JAMMU, Apr 25: Police today arrested a bootlegger along with 49 pouches of illicit liquor from Palwan Camp, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Akhnoor police station headed by SHO Pardeep Sharma laid a naka at Palwan Camp and intercepted a pedestrian namely Bhopinder Singh, son of Surinder Singh of Jad, Akhnoor.
During search, police recovered 49 pouches of excise liquor and arrested the accused.
A case under FIR number 82/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigations started.
