JAMMU, Dec 19: Akhnoor police arrested a man and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, during checking at Fawara Chowk, a team from Akhnoor police station intercepted a pedestrian, who was trying to hide himself from the cops.
During checking, police recovered 27 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Birbal, son of Nandu Ram, a resident of Mawa Barhmana.
A case under FIR Number 187/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
