JAMMU, Feb 4: Bus Stand police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a man and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bus Stand Police Station apprehended a man along with 144 pouches of illicit liquor.
The accused has been identified as Surjeet Singh, son of Krishan Lal, a resident of Dessa, district Doda.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native area for selling among the people to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 10/18 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Bus Stand Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
