JAMMU, Aug 5: Pounichak police arrested a man along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Pounichak police post laid a naka and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking, as he was moving under suspicious circumstances and was hiding himself from the cops.
On seeing police cops approaching him, the man tried to escape from the spot, but the cops chased and nabbed him.
During checking, police recovered 47 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Krishan Lal, son of Kalu Ram, a resident of Karloop Marh.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native area for selling among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case in this regard has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pounichak police post SI Sumit Magotra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Rajeshwar Singh, SDPO Domana Surinder Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
