JAMMU, July 4: A 52-year-old man allegedly committed suicide here at Assray Chak area under mysterious circumstances today, police said.
They said Raj Kumar (52) son of Rudi Ram of Assray Chak area falling under the jurisdiction of Border Police Post (BPP) Gajansoo was found hanging with a tree near his house around 8:10 am.
Soon after police got information, he was shifted to Government Medical College Jammu where doctors declared him as dead on arrival.
ASI Ravinder Bhushan, incharge BPP Gajansoo, said that inquest proceedings under CrPC 174 have been initiated to ascertain the reasons as to why the man took such an extreme step to end his life.
