Man dies of electrocution, another found hanging

JAMMU, July 3: A mason who was engaged in a construction work at a milk factory in Gangyal area of city outskirts today died due to electrocution while a migrant labourer from Chattisgarh was found hanging with a tree in a field at Nagbani area of Domana.
According to a police spokesperson, the mason identified as Umesh Sahu (24) son of Yogeshwar Sahu, a resident of Chattisgarh, was busy in his work at Surya Milk factory in Gangyal when he came in contact with a live wire at about 11 am this morning.
The mason received a severe electric shock and fell unconscious following which he was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completing medico-legal formalities.
The Gangyal police has registered a case in this connection and further investigations are on.
Meanwhile, at about 6.45 am this morning, the dead body of a migrant labourer was found hanging with a Mango tree in a field at Nagbani area falling under the limits of police station Domana.
The deceased has been identified as Samay Lal (50) son of Mangal, a resident of Chattisgarh (at present Nagbani). The body was spotted by some locals who had gone in the field to attend nature’s call.
On getting information from locals, Domana police reached on the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to GMCH Jammu, where after conduction autopsy it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
As no suicide note was recovered from the spot, a case under 174 CrPC has been registered by Domana police in this connection.
