POONCH, May 20: A 35- years-old man died due to electric shock in Steelan Lohilbella area of Mandi in Poonch district today.
The deceased has been identified as Irshad Ahmed, son of Jalal Din, a resident of Steelan in Lohilbella, in block Loran of Mandi.
Official sources said that he was electrocuted to death while he was charging his mobile phone and also talking o his cell phone, while locals said that they saw electricity line burning outside his house.
He was taken to Sub District hospital Mandi where doctors declared him brought dead, officials said.
Station House Officer Loran, inspector Sajid Iqbal when contacted said that body has been handed over to family after performing all legal formalities.
Inquest proceedings have been initiated under 174 CrPC in this regard, he added.
