JAMMU, Oct 1: A man died today due to electrocution in Kanachak area of city outskirts.
“The deceased was identified as Mohd Shabir (23) son of Liyaqat Ali, resident of Agrachak (RS Pura),” an official said, adding, he was an employee of a private company engaged in widening work of Jammu-Akhnoor Road.
He said while cutting a tree along Ranbir Canal beside Jammu-Akhnoor Road, he came in contact with a High Tension wire and died on the spot. “The body of the deceased has been shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem while inquest proceeding has been initiated in this connection at police station Kanachak,” the official added.
