SRINAGAR, July 10: A man in city here committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Srinagar while a lady tried to end her by setting herself ablaze, police said Friday.
A police spokesman said that the man namely Mohammad Maqbool Raina of Haknar Kangan consumed poisonous substance at Naseem Bagh in Hazratbal area.
“He was shifted to hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police have registered a case under FIR No.72/15 under Section 309 in this regard,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said a lady, in a bid to end her life, set herself ablaze by sprinkling Kerosene on her body in Pahalgam area.
“She was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman added.
