Srinagar, Dec 25: Police today arrested a man for committing an unnatural sexual offence upon a minor boy in Chadoora of district Budgam, and booked him under POCSO Act.
In a statement issued, police said that on December 24, Police Station Chadoora received a written complaint from the parents of a minor boy stating that their son has been kidnapped by one Mohammad Sidiq Sheikh (60) son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Gogji Pathri, Chadoora a few days back.
“He was taken to Jammu where the man committed an unnatural sexual offence upon him,” police said quoting the statement of complainants.
In this connection, police said, a case FIR number 205/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora, and the investigation was taken up.
During the investigation and after the medical examination, police said, the victim was shifted to Child Protection Unit Budgam
“Today morning, the accused was arrested from Railway Station Budgam. The arrested child abuser has been booked under POCSO Act besides other sections of the law,” police said, adding further investigation into the matter was going on.
