RAMBAN, July 31: A man has been booked for publishing a poster to disturb peace and harmony in Nagbal area of Tehsil Banihal.
As per police sources, on the complaint of President Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President district Ramban Ashish Sharma, a case under FIR Number 113/2020 under Section 295-A IPC (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) has been registered against Ghulam Rasoo, Mufti of Madrasa Faizul Islam Nagbal Banihal.
Ghulam Rasool had published a poster to disturb peace and harmony in Nagbal area of Banihal, sources said, adding that investigation into the case has been initiated.
Meanwhile, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ramban Ashok Kumar Sharma has directed the SDM Banihal to conduct enquiry into the matter and take necessary action as warranted under relevant sections of IPC.
He also directed SDM to keep vigil on such culprits and take strict action if anyone is found guilty.
