MENDHAR, June 11:One person was stabbed by a rival group over a land dispute in Harni village of Tehsil Mendhar today.
Identified as Mohammed Sageer, son of Mohammed Aziz Khan of Harni, the Gursai Police has registered a case against eight people in this regard under FIR Number 44, U/S 323/147 RPC. Out of them police has arrested two women while six others including four men and two women are still at large.
The injured was first taken to Mendhar SDH wherefrom he was referred to DH Rajouri. However his condition is stated to be critical.
As per police Mohammed Idres Khan had grabbed one and half Kanal of land belonging to Aziz Khan and there was a dispute over it between the two families. Yesterday Idres tried to grab more land out of six kanals belonging to Aziz Khan and the family protested against the same.
This morning when Sageer Khan son was returning from market to his house he was attacked by Wahid Khan and his brother Shahid son of Idrees with sharp edged weapons in the market and inflicted serious injuries on his head and arm. Sageer fell in a pool of blood while Wahid Khan and Shabeer Khan the assailant fled away. However the people raised alarm and family members reached the spot. The family and relatives of Sageer also protested against the police saying the assault was made just few meters before the Police Station Gursai. Both Wahid and Shahid Khan are police constables.
People demanded action against the culprits and also registering a case under PSA against Wahid Khan and he be declared as a history sheeter because he is involved in stabbing cases registered against him in PS Gursai and Surankote.
