JAMMU, Apr 7: Narwal police today arrested a man after one kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession.
According to a police official, during naka checking near Railway Crossing, a police team from police post Narwal intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK02AD-5293 and on checking of the vehicle recovered one kg of poppy straw.
He said the consignment was seized on the spot and the driver of the vehicle namely Bodh Raj, son of Charan Dass, resident of Joguwan (Akhnoor) was arrested while a case FIR No 90/2019 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at police station Trikuta Nagar.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team led by Incharge, police post Narwal, Sub Inspector Khyatiman Khajuria.
