JAMMU, Apr 6: Akhnoor Police arrested a man and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial laid a naka and intercepted a man, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 23 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohinder Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, a resident of Rajasthan, at present Gumpul Tehsil Bhalwal District Jammu.
He was carrying the illicit liquor bottles to his present native area for selling among the people to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 87/2022 under Section 48 (a) and (f) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation has been set into motion.
