JAMMU, Feb 22: A man has been arrested along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Kandoli Mandir Chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of Nagrota police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota police station laid a naka near Kandoli Mandir Chowk and intercepted a mini-bus bearing registration number JK02E-3386.
During checking, police recovered 48 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Mukhtiar Ali, son of Barkat Ali, a resident of Katal Battal, Nagrota.
A case under FIR Number 46/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota police station Inspector Karan Chalotra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
