JAMMU, Feb 11: Bishnah police arrested a man for selling illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bishnah Police Station conducted raid in Kotli Charkan area and apprehended one person, who was selling illicit liquor among the masses near his house.
The arrested person has been identified as Darshan Lal, son of Sardari Lal, a resident of village Kotli Charkan.
Around 20 litres of refined illicit liquor along with distillery utensils were seized on the spot and about 150 litres of lahan was destroyed.
A case under FIR Number 31/18 under Section 48-A and 48-F Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Rajesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
