JAMMU, Aug 29: Pacca Danga police under “Operation Amrit” arrested a man along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police spokesman, a team from Pacca Danga police station during checking at Manda asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the person tried to escape, but the cops intercepted him after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 100 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested.
The arrested person identified as Karan Singh, a resident of Panthal, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native area for selling among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 111/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
