JAMMU, Aug 4: Gangyal Police arrested a man for raping a woman on the pretext of marrying her.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a lady with Police Station Gangyal stating that she came in contact with a man identified as Surjit Kumar, son of Sukhdev Raj, a resident Kunde Chasma Pathankot Punjab in the year 2017.
“The man made physical relations with me on the pretext of marrying, but later married another girl and spoiled my whole life”, the complainant stated.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 109/2021 under Sections 376 and 109 IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team of Police Station Gangyal was constituted which arrested the alleged accused from Pathankot, Punjab.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
