POONCH, June 3: The police has arrested one person on the charges of murder of his teenage daughter at a village in district Poonch today.
The accused had buried the body of her daughter after murder without letting anyone know about it. The incident took place at Dhara village in Poonch district.
SSP Poonch, Ramesh Angral said that a team headed by DySP Mudassir Hussain and SHO Mandi, Tilak Raj was probing a girl’s missing case under Mandi police station. A teenage girl, Kulsoom Begum (14) was missing, as per the statement of her father.
“During investigation, police team sensed suspicion on the role of girl’s father after which he was detained and put to questioning,” SSP said.
During questioning, he broke and confessed to have killed his daughter three days ago, SSP further said.
” On the disclosure of the accused father, and order from District Magistrate Poonch, the body of the victim was exhumed from grave and got the post mortem conducted on the spot through board of doctors after which body was handed over to her uncle.” SSP informed.
SSP added that the father of victim who have been identified as Riaz Ahmed Mir of Dhara, Mandi has been arrested. Further investigation was in progress.
