JAMMU, Apr 10: Secretary PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Parvez Ahmed Malik, who is also chairman of Water Sanitation and Support Organization (WSSO) today convened a meeting to discuss and review the implementation of annual action plan 2014-15 under support activities and status of water quality labs.
Chief Engineer PHE, Sushil Aima, Director Finance PHE, Mahesh Sharma, Executive Director, CCDU, Narinder Bhatial, Deputy Director Information, Afshan Masood besides senior officers of CCDU, IT and PHE were present on the occasion.
Secretary while interacting with the officers discussed the availability of reagents in Water Quality Labs, procurement of FTKs and the details of expenditure incurred during 2014-15 under WQMSP.
During the meeting, the Secretary was apprised of the status of Water Quality Laboratories with regard to the availability of reagents, manpower, equipment, number of tests conducted. He was also informed about the status of under construction state level labs each at Srinagar and Jammu.
Malik emphasized on putting all details regarding the water quality tests in the public domain on the departmental website for the general masses to know about the quality of water being provided to them by the department.
