Malhotra reviews development works

Chairman Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra chairing a meeting of officers on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Nov 20:  Chairman Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra today chaired a meeting of officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and discussed various important issues related to welfare of the people.
He reviewed the present status of various development works being executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation. He directed the JMC for early repairs of defected High Mast lights installed in Jammu city especially at Baba Lal Ji Temple.
He also took stock of the development works in Ward No. 1 and directed the officers to complete all the pending works. He asked the JMC for early repair/renovation and beautification of Purani Mandi park. He also directed JMC to gear up its men and machinery so that sanitation problem especially in old city is solved.
Other issues discussed include tackling of stray dog menace especially in old city, survey of BSUP cases of Jammu city and shed work at Shiv Mandir, Peerkho, etc.
On the occasion, various individuals and deputations met the Chairman and apprised him about their grievances and demands for early redressal.
Mr. Malhotra assured them that all their genuine demands and problems would be redressed in a phased manner. He gave onspot direction to the concerned officers to redress the grievances in time bound manner.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal, Joint Commissioner Kapil Sharma, XEn Niaz Bandey, XEn Arvind Gupta and XEn Sunil Gupta.
Later, Mr. Malhotra met with various deputations and was briefed about their grievances related to Custodian rent and other issues.
Custodian General Abdul Majid Mir, Custodian Jammu Mustaq Hussain and XEn Custodian Bashir Ahmed Mir were also present in the meeting.
