JAMMU, Mar 2: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) today demanded that the Civil Secretariat be made functional at both Jammu and Srinagar together.
Raising the issue during special meeting of working committee of DSS, Sabha president former Minister, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak demanded that after the hill council for Ladakh, the next rational step is to function both summer and winter secretariats together at both places, since Jammu population suffer immensely for not being able to go to Srinagar due to prevailing law and order conditions and absence of administrative support there.
Pointing out that various attempts are being made by some sections to deliberately pollute the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu region, Charak insisted that such elements should be identified, isolated, cordoned, investigated and booked.
He once again exhorted all politicians, veterans, prominent citizens and civil societies to come on one common platform to promote the cause of unity, peace, secular brotherhood and equitable development of Jammu region.
The former Minister also urged upon the Government to make special arrangements for the education of children from border areas and provide a degree college for Arnia which is left out in the allocation despite being the largest border town of district Jammu.
He also announced that the annual feature of the “Dhiyan Dogren Dian” was delayed due to prevailing circumstances and assured that a fresh firm date will be announced soon.
