SRINAGAR : Security forces today averted a major tragedy when they detected and defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted under a railway bridge in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said here.
Sources told UNI that a Road Opening Party (ROP) of security forces noticed a powerful IED planted under a railway bridge at Mazhama on Srinagar-Baramulla track. The area was immediately sealed and all those present in the area were shifted to safer places. Later, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused the IED in a pressure cooker without causing any damage.
