It was quite heartening to see Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying the foundation stone of Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut on 2nd January 2022. Being a sportsman, I feel that sports university is need of the hour and will go in a big way in development of sports and career building in sports, it’s effects will be seen in times to come in Asian Games, Common Wealth Games as well as Olympic Games. Moreover 2022 begins for Indian Sports on a promising and good note.
I appeal to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to also establish a sports university in Jammu and also issue order to introduce one sports discipline at least in each school and it should be one of the compulsory subjects in the study and those senior players / students who have qualified NIS or Certificate Course be appointed in these school so that sports atmosphere be created.
