Major bovines smuggling bids foiled; 210 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

UDHAMPUR, July 7: Police foiled major bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 201 cattle and arresting four smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Jakhani and intercepted four persons carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the four persons failed to give satisfactory reply and police arrested them. 210 bovine animals were rescued from the clutches of four persons.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohd Arshad, son of Mind Wadi of Kheri RS Pura, Abduk Karim, son of Ghulam Nabi of RS Pura, Mohammad Frid, son of Noor Jamal of Keri RS Pura and Mahmod, son of Gadar Husssian of Kheri RS Pura.
Four cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge SHO Udhampur SI Vishaw Partap Singh and assisted by ASI Mohammad Iqbal, HCc Gopal Dass and SgCt Romesh Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Udhampur Kulbir Handa.
