5 police officers also shuffled

JAMMU, May 16: A major administrative reshuffle in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh is imminent with the transfer of 12 IAS and three IPS officers out of the UTs by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Sources said that the reshuffle of senior officers like Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, PK Pole, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, CEO (AB-PMJAY) J&K, Sanjiv M Gadkar, MD JPDCL, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, Director Information, J&K, Nitish Rajora, Shakeel-ul-Rehman Rather, Director Floriculture Kashmir in Jammu & Kashmir and officers like CEO Ladakh Yetindra M Maralkar, DC Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, and DC Leh Santosh G Sukhadeve besides senior police officers, has created several vacancies at the higher levels.
“In order to fulfil these vacancies expeditiously for the smooth functioning of the administration, the reshuffle is on cards soon,” they said.
As per an order issued by the MHA today, 2004 and 2005 batch IAS officers PK Pole and VK Bidhuri, currently holding the charges of CEO J&K and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir have been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi.
The order further said that 2013 batch IAS officers Sanjiv M Gadkar and Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather have been transferred from J&K to Goa. Two more 2013 batch IAS officers Pardeep Kumar and Rahul Sharma have been transferred from the UT to Chandigarh and Ladakh.
Additionally, 2015 batch IAS officer Choudhary Mohmmad Yasin has been transferred from J&K to Puducherry and 2021 batch IAS officers Nitish Rajora and Rakesh Kumar to the Union Territory of Ladakh from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
As far as transfers from the UT of Ladakh are concerned, 2013 batch IAS officer Yetindra M Maralkar has been transferred to Goa, 2016 batch IAS officer Shrikant Balasaheb Suse to Jammu and Kashmir amd 2017 batch IAS officer Santosh G Sukhadeve to the UT of Goa.
Similarly, 7 IAS officers, including six from Delhi-Ashish Chandra Verma (1994 batch), Anil Kumar Singh (1995), Naveen SL (2012), Shreya Singhal (2020), Mahima Madan (2021), Ananth Dwivedi (2021)-and one Shrikant Balasaheb Suse (2016) from Ladakh has been posted in J&K and three officers from J&K-Rahul Sharma (2013), Nitish Rajora (2021) and Rakesh Kumar (2021)-have been posted in Ladakh.
Further, three IPS officers from Jammu and Kashmir, including Umesh Kumar (2009 batch), Sanjeev Kumar Yadav (2013), and Sandeep Gupta (2015) have been transferred to Delhi and two IPS officers including Sameer Sharma (2011) from Lakshadweep and Rishi Kumar (2021) from Delhi have been transferred back in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, in a related order, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) also cancelled the transfer of two senior IAS officers of the erstwhile J&K Cadre.
As per the order, Saugat Biswas, under orders of transfer from Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu and Kashmir, will no longer move to the UT now, and Yasha Mudgal will not be shifted from Jammu and Kashmir to Puducherry.
“In partial modification of MHA’s order of even number dated October 17, 2024, the transfers in respect of Saugat Biswas, IAS (AGMUT:2006) from Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu and Kashmir and Yasha Mudgal, IAS (AGMUT: 2007) from Jammu and Kashmir to Puducherry are hereby cancelled,” read an order issued by Rakesh Kumar Singh, Under Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
