Maize rebounds on upsurge in demand

NEW DELHI, May 21: Maize prices recovered by Rs 40 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market today on uptick in demand from consuming industries against tight supply.

Traders said besides upsurge in demand from consuming industries, restricted supplies from growing regions mainly led to the rise in maize prices.

In the national capital, maize rose by Rs 40 to Rs 1,500-1,510 pr quintal.
