Mahila Cong workers’ convention at Kargil

KARGIL, June 30:  Pradesh Mahila Congress unit organized one day convention of  the women workers of the party here today.
President  Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, Indu Pawar (MLA) presided over  and it was organized by District Mahila Congress Committee president Kargil, Parveen Akhtar.  It was also attended by general secretary Zaina Bano, joint secretary Fiza Bano and Kaneez Fatima, executive member and others.
While addressing the convention, Ms Pawar impressed upon the Mahila workers of the party to remain united and also be aware of their rights. She further said that Congress is the only party which takes bold decision for the welfare of the nation without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or religion. She referred to the welfare schemes undertaken by the UPA Government at the Centre for empowering and upliftment of women folk in the country.
Ms Pawar said that issues regarding women empowerment have been taken up with the District Development Commissioner Kargil and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil.  She impressed upon the Mahila workers to meet regularly, project issues of the people and maintain unity.
