JAMMU, Aug 17: Hundreds of activists of  Mahila Congress under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress president,  Indu Pawar (Ex-MLA), held massive protest demonstration outside Press Club Jammu against unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities.
The protesting activists were raising slogans against Narendra Modi Government at the Centre. Mahila Congress activists demanded check on the uncontrolled prices of essential commodities.
While addressing Congress activists,  Indu Pawar recalled that BJP had made a false promise to the people of the nation to give them “Achey Din” but in reality they are giving us “expensive  and bad days” by increasing the prices of essential commodities, one by one ranging from LPG, petrol and diesel to the prices of essentials of daily use and railway fare. She said increase in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG will result in the increase in price of all commodities.
She said when the BJP was campaigning before the elections, they had promised to curb inflation and cut down the cost of basic amenities. But coming to power the BJP Government has started increasing the price of everything to protect interest of big business houses.
While warning the NDA of intensified agitation if the Centre continued to take such “anti-people decisions”, she regretted said that “BJP has betrayed the people in the name of “Achey Din” and after elections their good days are not arriving, but the price hike is taking place on essentials one after the other”.
Mahila Congress president said that women folk are bearing maximum brunt of the anti-people policies being propagated by the NDA Government headed by Narendra Modi. She said except tall promises, nothing concrete has been done on the ground. She pointed towards unprecedented hike in the prices of tomato and onions and alleged that this regime is serving interests of business houses at the cost of the poor people.
Pointing towards failure of the PDP-BJP Govt, she said that this regime has done nothing to solve basic problems of the people. Instead of solving peoples’ problems, leaders of coalition are over-burdened with solving their own internal conflicts and bickering.
