JAMMU, Oct 17: Maharaja Gulab Singh Birthday Celebration Committee is going to pay tributes to Maharaja Gulab Singh, the Founder of the J&K State on his birth anniversary at Mubarak Mandi Complex, Jammu on October 21.
This was stated by members of Maharaja Gulab Singh Birthday Celebration Committee including Ravi Singh Slathia, Convener, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Co-convener, Amrik Singh, Dalbir Singh, Raman Manhas, Advocate Sachin Singh, Rashpal Singh Chib, Manish Pathania, Vikram Singh Billoria, Ajeet Singh, Rameshwar Singh Manhas and Sunil Singh during a press conference here today.
They invited prominent persons from all the trade, social, religious and literary organizations to participate in the programme to give impetus to the task taken by the committee.
They expressed serious concern about not declaring the State holiday on birthday of Maharaja Gulab Singh and not naming of the University of Jammu after the name of Maharaja Gulab Singh.
They showed their anguish over the delaying tactics of the Government in the preservation and restoration of prestigious heritage Mubarak Mandi Palaces.
