Maha Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak celebrated with fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, Dec 27: The Maha Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak popularly known as Kak Sahib was celebrated with full religious fervor and gaiety at Swami Ji’s Nagrota Asthapan today.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu as well as Jagti township and Nagrota TRT participated in the function. The function started with Maha Yagya yesterday evening and culminated with Puranahuti this afternoon.
After the Puranahuti the devotees were served with prashad. The devotees, while paying their obeisance to the medieval saint of Kashmir offered prayers at the Asthapan. Swami Mirzakak is a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir who has made many wonders during his life time. He is taken in high esteem by his devotees as a legend goes that he had spelled a doom for the tyrant Afghan rulers during his life time with his spiritual power who had committed many atrocities on Kashmiris.
A day -long bhajan kirtan was also held at the Asthapan by the devotees. It may be recalled that after the mass migration the devotees of Swami Mirzakak from Hangalgund had established an Asthapan near Nagrota camp where the annual yagya and Jayanti of Swami Ji is celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety every year. This year Bushan Lal Hangloo president of Swami Mirzakak Trust and another devotee and activist of the Trust Makhan Lal Pandita were the Yajmans in the Hawan.
