JAMMU, July 4: In a joint installation ceremony, the Rotary Club of Jammu City (RCJC) installed KB Magotra as president and Sandeep Beri as secretary of the Club for the year 2018-19 here today.
Gurvinder Kaur was installed as president and Ritika Mahajan as the secretary of Rotary Club of Jammu Elite. The new presidents were installed by Sunil Nagpal, District Governor Elect (2019-20), Rotary District 3070.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest of the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the new presidents assured to carry forward all the projects undertaken by the outgoing team.
Nagpal, congratulated the respective Clubs for their excellent track record and hoped that these Clubs would achieve new heights with the new team of office bearers. He assured that the Clubs will have full support of the district in all the programmes undertaken by them.
Kavinder Gupta, MLA who is also Honorary Member of Rotary Club of Jammu City, lauded the exemplary work done by RCJC in mitigating the sufferings of the people at the lowest rung of the society. He said that he has personally witnessed the good work done by RCJC over the years and he will continue to support all activities of the Club in future also.
Anil Swaraj, the former president, highlighted the work done by the Club in the past and thanked all members of the Club for their tireless efforts and unflinching support in serving the cause of humanity.
Earlier, a tree plantation programme was organised by the Club at Tawi bank park near Ware House in which Kavinder Gupta and Barjesh Singhal, District Governor participated. Over 50 saplings were planted in a bid to enhance the green cover in Jammu city.
Prominent among those who attended the programmes included Lt Gen PS Mehta, Davinder Singh, Maj Gen JDS Bedi, KK Dhir, US Ghai, Brig Harcharan Singh, RK Handa, Arvind Sharma, Vijay Sehdev, Manoj Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Col. SS Sambyal and Parveen Sharma (HP).
Robin Mehta, Sanjeev Vaid, Sanjay Bansal, Gurdev Singh Sodhi, Arun Ninawat, Mayank Vaid, Deepali Sharma, Dr Sahul Lerra, Arun Sabharwal, Prashant Singh, Sundeep Bhat, Sourabh Sethi, Ankita Sethi, Rajni Vaid, Harvinder Pal Singh and Navshesh were also present on the occasion.
