An apple tree seemed to bewitch everything and everyone in the garden. It was a majestic treewith juicy fruit, sparkling leaves and sweet flowers. Kids enjoyed swinging on its branches just as much as grown-ups liked to gossip under it. The gardener was thrilled that his little sapling was a source of joy for everyone. He could see the joy on the tree when squirrels climbed it, the usher of exuberance on it when small kids played on its branches, the wind in its leaves when people enjoyed its fruit, dance of the tree when birds sang on its bark and quiet honestly the gardener was elated that such lovely a tree grew in his garden.
There were other trees in the garden too. Other trees were beautiful, too, but seemed to lack the magic of the apple tree. They wanted and waited for the same attention but to no avail. Gardener was dutiful towards all the trees in the garden. He was judicious in watering and nurturing them, sun shone on all, and, yet the apple tree was -well – the magical apple tree.
The other trees grew discontent and asked the gardener to give the magical apple tree half the water and manure. They suggested that the magical tree could manage in half the amount of nourishment. Gardener was taken aback by their suggestion and did not do any such injustice, after all the magical tree was bestowed with its beauty from God and couldn’t be punished for it. He continued to give the magical apple tree its share of water and nourishment.
The magical apple tree was sensitive to the changing environment around it. It made an effort to extend its roots to communicate with rest of its tree friends but obviously the efforts were thwarted. It made the apple tree very sad. The gardener was perceptive to the sadness of the magical tree so he made a conscious effort to protect the tree a little more than before. But the protection from the gardener was not enough to remove the sadness of the magical tree.
Gardener pondered for a solution a little and then planted two more saplings. The saplings were also bewitched by the magical apple tree. They started extending their roots towards the magical plant. This made the magical tree very happy. Soon the gardener had not one but three beautiful magical apple trees.
The other older trees discontent gave way to curiosity. Instead of jealousy and envy they became inquisitive to know the secret of the three magical trees. They tried to extend their roots to the new trees but the new trees had no time for them. They were enjoying their glory and basking in all the attention showered on them. After all they were young and beautiful – too absorbed in their new found stardom.
The older trees were left with no choice but to go back to older magical apple tree. The older magical tree welcomed them and told them something it was initially tying to convey to them.
It said that the only difference was that when the gardener came to nurture the trees it would open its roots to absorb better. The older trees were lazy and waited for the water and manure to trickle to their roots, whereas, the magical tree opened itself to absorb more and consequently the leaves, flowers and bark also opened to more absorption.
The universe gave abundance to it because it opened itself to abundance.
