JAMMU, Feb 29: Dr Madhuri Kanitkar, presently posted as Major General Medical, Udhampur, has been approved for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General.
She will be only the third woman officer from the Defence Services to rise to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Her husband Rajeev Kanitkar has retired from the Army recently also as the Lieutenant General.
