Madhav meets Mehbooba, says coalition working strongly with better understanding

SRINAGAR: Claiming that Peoples Democratic Party and Bharatiya Janata Party coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir was working strongly with better understanding, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav today expressed happiness that more people in the Kashmir valley are joining the party.

Taking note of Jammu University (JU) decision not to allow  Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) students’  activism at the campus, Mr Madhav made it clear that no pro- nationalist activity be barred in the state.    The BJP incharge of Jammu and Kashmir rushed here yesterday and had a detailed meeting with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

The meeting between the two leaders took place hours after moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) urged the coalition government to clear stand on construction of colonies for sainiks and migrant pundits since leaders from the coalition government are issuing contradictory statements on these issues.

However, it was not immediately clear whether the issue was discussed as PDP leaders have categorically stated that there is no proposal to construct sainik or migrant colonies a number of BJP leaders announced to construct them in the Valley.

BJP media incharge in the Valley, Altaf Thakur said Mr Madav said that the BJP- PDP coalition government has strong understanding in the state and both the parties have the same motive to usher new phase of development in the State.

At a meeting of  state office-bearers and senior leaders of Kashmir here , Mr Madav expressed satisfaction that people have embraced the party’s agenda and policies both in the country and state.

“We are happy that more and more people are joining pro- nationalist party in the valley,” he said, adding, this all was possible only because of the party’s straight policy of development and welfare of people.

He also asked party’s local leaders to reach out to the common public, listen to their grievances and ensure to address their genuine issues.    “We are ruling the state, but our workers have to work hard to strengthen the party,” Mr Madav said, adding, the party is carrying forward its mission on the basis of experience and enthusiastic cadre.

On barring ABVP students activism at JU, Mr Madhav made it clear that no pro-nationalist activity be barred in the state. (AGENCIES)
