JAMMU, Mar 16: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler hailing from Ludhiana along with poppy straw.
As per police sources, during checking at Manda, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station intercepted a person, who elevated from a Jammu bound vehicle after seeing the cops.
During checking, police recovered 1.215 grams poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Jarnail Singh, son of Parkash Singh, a resident of Ludhiana.
A case under FIR Number 36/18 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Pacca Danga Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
