LEH, Mar 28 : The first edition of Ladakh Ideathon-2024 organised by DST Technology wing of University of Ladakh (LU) was held here today.
Students of GDC Nubra participated in two groups to present their innovative ideas and product prototypes.
The first group of students presented their innovative herbal products like soap, lip balm, herbal tea under the title ‘wild to market’ made from Black Goji Berry (Lycium ruthenicum), an important medicinal herb with potential health benefit and found exclusively in Nubra valley of Ladakh.
While, the second group of students presented products made from waste materials under the title ‘waste to market’ and presented many innovative products including nova handmade pad made from the wool of Bactrian camel, a species of camel found only in Nubra valley of Ladakh.
In the category of product prototypes, students of GDC Nubra won second position for their innovative noval Black Goji Berry products under the title ‘wild to market’ in a cut-throat competition with competitors like entrepreneur Ladakh Basket, EJM College, CIBS and many others.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal GDC, Nubra, Dr Tsewang Motup congratulated the students and faculties for winning second position at the first edition of Ladakh Ideathon-2024.
He appreciated the innovative ideas and endeavours of students and their mentors in bringing laurels to the institution and felicitated the participating students and faculties and encouraged them for future endeavours and achievements during a brief ceremony held for this purpose.
Ideathon provides a platform to the technology enthusiast, entrepreneurs, start-ups and students of university, college, polytechnics and schools to showcase their business ideas, innovations, inventions and product prototypes.
More than 30 registered participants across India showcased and presented their business ideas, innovations, inventions and product prototypes.
