JAMMU: Lieutenant General Yogesh Kumar Joshi, who is presently Chief of staff of the Northern Command, would be taking over as new Army Commander of strategically crucial Command at Udhampur on Saturday.
Lt Gen Joshi would be replacing Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, who is superannuating on Friday.
General Joshi was earlier the commander of Leh based Fire & Fury Corps.
On January 24, 2020, he was appointed GOC-in-C Northern Command succeeding Lieutenant-General Ranbir Singh upon the latter’s retirement on January 31.
Lt Gen Joshi, with vast experience of anti-terror operations in Kashmir, would be taking over the Command that shares borders with both adversaries — China and Pakistan.
