Lt Gen Dua, VHP leaders call on Governor

SRINAGAR, Sept 14: Lt. Gen. Satish Dua, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
Governor and Lt. Gen. Dua discussed the vital importance of a fully integrated inter-service approach being followed in regard to planning and operational issues. They also discussed the obtaining security situation in the State.
Surindera Jain,national spokesperson, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), accompanied by Rajesh Gupta, Chairman Tourism Federation of Jammu and Surinder Mohan Aggarwal, President Baba Amarnath & Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas also met Governor.
Jain discussed with the Governor, who is Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, several proposals and suggestions to enhance the facilities being provided to the pilgrims visiting the Shri Amarnathji Shrine.
The delegation appreciated Governor’s decision to continue the Yatra, without any interruption, after the terrorist attack on 10th July on a bus carrying pilgrims and for immediate relief being provided to the victims of the terror attack and the pilgrims killed and injured in a gruesome accident which occurred on 16th July near Banihal.
Regarding the suggestions for further improving arrangements for the Yatra, Governor asked Umang Narula CEO to raise the same at the next meeting of the Sub-Committee chaired by the Chief Secretary.
