LPU to host 3rd Bhartiya Vigyan Sammelan, Expo

JALANDHAR, June 22: In order to bring scientific community, academicians, technocrats and other innovators together on to a single meaningful research forum, Lovely Professional University (LPU), along with PTU, is going to host 3rd Bhartiya Vigyan Sammelan and Expo, from October, 11 to 14.
To be organised, under the theme of “Science for Global Development”, this mega science conference will be held in collaborative efforts along with Vijnana Bharti, Punjab Technical University and Punjab State Council of Science and Technology, in which about 3000 eminent scientists and academicians are likely to participate.
The Chief Patron of the ‘Sammelan’, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, has recently reviewed the preparatory arrangements for the same. Punjab Government has also announced a grant of Rs 50 Lakh for this event.
Talking to media, Chancellor of LPU, Ashok Mittal, said that the unique feature of this scientific conference is to provide common podium to technicians, artisans along with scientists, policy makers and others from ‘structured organizations’.
“These prominent researchers in their respective fields will share their thoughts, culled from their researches, for the betterment of the society”, he added.
He said that the main focus of the conference would be on environment and renewable energy, science and technology, agriculture and horticulture, veterinary sciences, water and energy management, Indian Medical Systems and Tele medicines, Bio-, Nano- and other emerging technologies”.
In addition, this conference is also going to have discussions on vital issues concerning Punjab, namely drinking water, replenishment of fast depleting underground water table and cleaning of Ponds.
CM Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal, has already asked the University that this prestigious event should be organized in such a manner that it should leave an indelible impression on the participants as well as on the youth to imbibe scientific temper.
