LPU can be among top 100 varsities of world: AICTE Chairman

JALANDHAR, May 20:  Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Prof Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe today visited Lovely Professional University and delivered inspirational messages to LPU faculty and staff members to lead India to be number one in the world.  Anticipating LPU and 19 more Government and private universities of India to be among top 100 Universities of the world, Prof Sahasrabudhe invoked all to keep on imparting 21st Century technology advancements to the students.
He was chief guest on the inauguration of new Human Resource Development (HRD) Center at LPU. The Center has been opened by the university to provide world class training to staff-members. During his two- hour witty address, he kept audience enthralled through his intellectual thoughts and foresightedness.  Appreciating LPU as truly professional university in diverse aspects, he also advised LPU faculty to develop certain courses for the benefit of the society.
Talking about higher education in India, AICTE Chairman informed: “No doubt, we have made great strides, but we’re still significantly lacking on world level. There are many major challenges before us, but nothing is impossible. With passion, commitment, hard work and perseverance everything is possible. Presently our mission is to see 20 universities of India to be included among top 100 universities of the world, and one of these can be LPU.”
More than 2800 Heads of Faculties, Schools, Divisions, Departments, members of Teaching, Administrative and Technical wings received enthralling lessons from him. He spoke to length on ‘Educating the 21st Century Educators’.  On this occasion, a brochure on faculty development programme of the newly inaugurated HRD Center was also unveiled by AICTE Chairman. LPU Chancellor, Ashok Mittal informed Prof Sahasrabudhe about achievements of LPU.
Prof Sahasrabudhe also laid stress on transforming prevalent examination system and strong industry-institution interaction. He informed that his department has already permitted that 20 percent of faculty should be from the industry. The labs and libraries should remain open for the enthusiastic students round the clock.
