KARGIL, July 7 : Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa (LPT), in collaboration with Centre for Advanced Research, Development and Change organized a grand programme today to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking the 75th anniversary of India’s independence and to give tribute to the unsung heroes of Ladakh who fought in the national struggle.
It was fifth such event organised by Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa in Ladakh. The event was a resounding success, attracting a large gathering of enthusiastic participants and spectators from all walks of life.
The programme, held at CFC in village Bodh Kharboo, Kargil (Ladakh), was a true celebration of patriotism, unity, and the indomitable spirit of freedom. It showcased the rich heritage and cultural diversity of Ladakh, along with its deep-rooted connection to the wider discourse of India’s struggle for independence. Chief guest of the event was retired Subedar Rigzen Dorjay. Nominated Councillor, Padma Dorjey, president BJP Padma Nurbu, Nambardar Tundup Dorjay, Sarpanch Sonam Stanzin, women association president Punchok Dolma and Sonam Lhadol and many representatives from village Bodhkharboo also graced the occasion.
Highlights of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme included, Flag hoisting ceremony. The programme commenced with a solemn Flag hoisting ceremony, where the Indian National Flag was raised by esteemed guests and dignitaries. The patriotic atmosphere was palpable as the audience joined in singing the National Anthem, their hearts swelling with pride. Eminent personalities delivered inspiring speeches, highlighting the significance of the occasion and the enduring values of freedom, unity, and progress.
The Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa organising general secretary, Balvinder Singh complimented all participants, performers, sponsors, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the programme.
