JAMMU, Oct 8: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) has strongly urged upon the Government to immediately release 6% DA installment from July 2015 in favour of State employees and pensioners in order to relieve them from undue miseries they have been facing due to unprecedented increase in prices of essential commodities.
Addressing a large gathering of employees in Akhnoor town, State president of the Federation, Abdul Majid Khan, said that Central Government has already provided this relief to their employees while as J&K Government is cryptically silent over the issue.
Alleging that due to inordinate delay in releasing the DA amount by the Government, a sense of anguish and anger has grown among the employees and pensioners throughout the State, Khan urged the Government to release the 6% DA to employees and pensioners.
The other demands highlighted on the occasion were regularization of daily wagers as well as need based, adhoc, contractual, consolidated and CP workers, enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 and minimum daily wage to Rs 350, extension of leave encashment benefit in respect of teachers, removal of pay anomalies of Head, Senior and Junior Assistants, and speedy redressal of outstanding grievances of ReT teachers, education volunteers, Anganwari workers, helpers, etc.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion were Babu Ram, president, LPEF, Akhnoor Tehsil, Ram Lal, president, Coordination Committee of Medical employees, Thakar Dass and Bindra Ban.
