Long arms of law effective even after 30 years

Indian Air Force personnel, unarmed and standing on the road at different locations, waiting for their bus were gunned down in Srinagar, the first major terrorist act of its kind, in Barzulla on January 25, 1990. The families of the martyred personnel all these 30 years have continuously been nursing not only the ache and pangs of their loved ones having lost their lives in terror attack but the culprits not having been subjected to face the law of the land. That speaks of the successive Governments’ failure in taking initiative in this regard.
Now, after three decades of the gruesome incident, TADA court has framed charges against Yasin Malik, Javid Nalka and five others. In this connection, there have been sufficient evidences with the investigating agency to the commissioning of the gruesome series of acts of indiscriminate firing on the selected targets on a single occasion on that day, by four of the accused themselves and other witnesses which throw new light on the case and lends strength enough to the prosecution in having the case tried in the court.
