Lockdown Violations: 2 vehicles seized, drivers held

JAMMU, Aug 22: Police here today arrested two drivers and seized their vehicles for violation of weekend lockdown restrictions, clamped by the authorities as a preventive measure to control the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Police sources informed that a cops from Police Station Kahna Chak headed by ASI Balwant Singh intercepted a Van and a minibus at Sua Number 01 check point.
Drivers of both the vehicles failed to produce required permission to move in the lockdown and were arrested.
The Van bearing registration number JK02BP/5389 was driven by Jeevan Lal of Parda, Akhnoor and four passenger were onboard the vehicle coming from Jammu and moving towards Akhnoor.
Driver of the minibus of Tempo Traveller make bearing registration number JK02CH-0131, Manzoor Hussain of Rajouri was ferrying eight passengers from Rajouri to Jammu.
Both the erring drivers have been arrested by the police under Epidemic Disease Act and their vehicles seized.
