Locals to get jobs in vital projects of J&K: Veeri

SRINAGAR: The Government today announced that local youths would get jobs on preferential terms in all vital projects being executived in Jammu and Kashmir.
Announcing this in the Legislative Assembly to a question by Devinder Singh Raina, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Public Works Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that Government would ensure that local youth would get jobs in the projects.
“We have taken up the matter with companies concerned wherein they have been directed to give priority to the local skilled as well as unskilled youth,” Mr Veeri informed the House.
“I would like to inform the House that all necessary measures would be taken for absorbing the locals in these projects,” he said, adding that the matter was of importance for the Government.
He said the Government has issued a number of orders, wherein norms have been fixed for employment of locals by the Industries in the State. (AGENCIES)
