UDHAMPUR, Jan 27: Alleging failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE)/ Jal Shakti in providing adequate water supply to them, the residents of Panchayat Sunetar- B in Ramnagar today held a protest at Sunetar-Ramnagar road.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PHE/ Jal Shakti Department and District administration Udhampur. They said that with no regular supply of drinking water for long time, people of the area were suffering and totally depending on natural sources.
“Even as the matter was repeatedly brought into the notice of the concerned authorities for the last three years, no action was taken,” they said and added that Rural Development Department had constructed a water tank costing Rs 65 thousand near his house of a Panch Meenu Devi but no connection was given to the supply line till data.
They demanded construction of water tank at some central place with connection to supply line in this village.
