UDHAMPUR, Dec 15: Locals of village Barmeen today held a strong protest against non-availability of approach road to newly constructed bridge near Basakhi Dabar on Ghordi Barmeen road.
The protesting people informed that work on construction of this bridge was started by Public Works Department (PWD), with the help of Army Engineers, in October 2014 after flash floods and landslides. “However, even after more than two years, the work has not been completed for the reason best known to the concerned authorities,” they added and demanded immediate construction of approach road to the bridge so that the same may be used by the people.
The protesting people said that despite repeated representations to the concerned authorities over their demand, no action was taken.
