UDHAMPUR, Aug 14: Locals of Ward number 8, 9 and 10 today protested against no supply of drinking water and bad condition of their respective lanes.
The protesting people assembled near Pandav Temple Udhampur and raised slogans against the Municipal Committee Udhampur as well as the PHE Department.
Former Councilor Jugal Kishor Gupta, who led the protest demonstration, lamented that the people were suffering because of no regular supply of drinking water and despite repeated pleas to the PHE authorities in this regard, there was no action.
Similar is the case with the Municipal Committee authorities, who are not repairing the lanes despite dilapidated condition of the same, he added.
Later on, PHE and Municipal committee officials reached the spot and assured the protesting people that adequate water supply would be ensured besides repair of the lanes.
The protest was joined by Anil Modi, Bharat Bhushan, Raju Sansan, Bittu Sansan, Ankit Sansan, Akashdeep Mutal, Anil Buccha, Ashok Bucha, Vinod Bucha, Sahil Gupta, Nipun Gupta, Sumit Manakotia and others.
