DODA, Aug 3: The residents from Chilly Pingle, Sunwara, Napier, Table and Mailk Pura areas of Sub District Gandoh held protests against the Power Development Department (PDD) at Malik Pura on Gandoh-Doda road.
The protestors led by Mohammad Hanif and Mehraj Malik blocked Doda-Gandoh road for around hours. They raised slogans against the senior officers of PDD for not providing uninterrupted power supply.
They said that their children who are preparing for their examinations could not concentrate on studies due to non-availability of power supply.
“PDD officials are befooling us by assuring that regular power supply will be provided to us, but on ground no concrete steps have been taken and we have been left with no other option but to come on roads”, one of the protestor said while talking to the Excelsior.
The protesters alleged that there is no scheduled power supply in their localities and demanded immediate intervention of higher authorities towards the matter.
Later, the protesters were pacified by the PDD officials and the traffic movement on the Doda-Gandoh road was restored.
